I recently configured a Raspberry Pi for a friend using Xbian and a Sony 46" LCD. It worked flawlessly with CEC support although there were a few commands that the Sony TV (remote) would not pass through the HDMI cable to the Pi. As such, I had no Context Menu or Info button which are both rather useful. After spending a few hours searching about, I managed to resolve it by remapping the coloured buttons below the D-Pad to perform the following: Red = Context Menu Blue = Info Yellow = Update video library Green = Clean video library

I've been using this ever since its inception and it's simply the best and quickest program to create backups of your DVD's or Blurays without any compression. If will back up a DVD as fast as your DVD player will spin. On my Core i7 X64 it typically takes around 12-15m. Download it here .

I have a Lenovo X220 running Windows 8/64 and a Synology DS712+. I use MakeMKV to backup my DVD's for storing on my NAS. My network consisted of two SMC Draft-N Access Points (at each end of the house) in bridge mode, all connected via a Gigabit switch.

I wanted to try this to see if my 1.0.5a Frodo 12.2 Xbian build would boot any faster with the Xbian boot partition on a USB2 flash drive or portable hard drive. As my video library was already on a Western Digital 320GB 2.5" portable HDD, it made sense to just create another partition on there to support the boot process. What follows is how I achieved this.
